Titan Academy of Special Abilities

Another fantasy story from my favorite author in Wattpad, April_Avery, has come home. Unlike Charm Academy, Titan Academy has a mysterious and serious vibe. If Charm Academy is a story whose two societies battle one another – one for power and the other to protect the power – Titan Academy is a fight for survival.

This story slightly tackled the rich and the poor status and how the poor thought the rich has it all. I love the twist na kung isa ka sa nabibilang sa “The Best Team” nina Shia at Gin, you have the privilege and the spotlight; people look up to you, but the only disadvantage is that you never know if you will survive the Linus Cup.

I also love the thought na possessing a powerful ability doesn’t guarantee your win, it all comes down to your wits and skills. I mean sa grupo nina Shia, her ability doesn’t belong to my list of “Abilities I Want to Have” but she proved that even a useless ability like hers helped her win and survive the Linus Cup.

It’s amazing how one incident leads to a revelation of truth later on; and how this incident reunited her with something that she lost several years ago.

Come and read the story of our survivor, Shia Sheridan, in Titan Academy of Special Abilities.

‘Til Next Time,

Charm Academy School of Magic

I may be biased in this book review since this was written by my favorite author in Wattpad, April_Avery; but then again, she won’t be my favorite author if her stories aren’t good. Also, I’ll be informing my readers that I might be speaking in Tagalog from time to time since this book is also written in TagLish.

We all love that zero-to-hero character in a fantasy story since it gives us the impression that we are not worthless. We may think that there’s nothing special within us when in fact, we just didn’t know we possessed it or what exactly it is.

Charm Academy gives out a bit of a Harry Potter vibe, especially doon sa societies nila – parang Hogwarts houses lang. Whenever I read the description of the school, I can feel the warmth of the place. I always see Charm Academy as bright and sunny.

I read this book since I was 13, and every time I look for an easy escape from reality this has been one of the stories I would run to. April_Avery took us into a magical world where ordinary people can be special, not just with their charms but also because of their attitude, strength, and even flaws.

Our special girl, Ariela Davis felt like she doesn’t belong in a world where magic exists; an ordinary girl with an ordinary life. The characters were relatable – shout out kay Snow na nagka-crush sa teacher niya – and somewhat funny. I love how Ariela and Jett met for the first time, and it’s kind of funny – hindi ko alam kung nakakatawa ba talaga yung scene o mababaw lang talaga ang kaligayahan ko. Ariela’s false bravado is such a mood the first time they met, and I just can’t help but snicker every time I read that scene. Their love story is one of my favorite cliches, and it’s hard to keep that smirk from showing my face every time they had the chance to bicker at each other.

Another thing I love about April_Avery’s stories is the friendships formed in her stories. Yung concern nila para sa isa’t-isa, how they helped Ariela adjust to the environment, and helped her train when she discovered her charm. And especially the life lessons you get from reading them and learning about each characters’ stories.

This is a story where “peculiarity is celebrated” and where each and everyone of them are special in their own way.
